Naomi Ruth Dillard, 94, of Huntington, WV passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House with all six children by her side. Born July 13, 1929, in Logan, WV, Naomi was the eighth child of the late CB and Roxie Avis Ferrell. She was sadly preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Earle S. Dillard, daughter-in-law, Kelly A. Dillard and seven siblings. Naomi was an active member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Huntington Woman’s Club and PEO Chapter 1. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, Marshall sports but her passion and pride was her family. Naomi was the matriarch of her immediate and extended family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Naomi is survived by her devoted children, Dan Dillard of Bloomington, IN; Cheri Baird of Louisville, KY; David Dillard of Merritt Island, FL; Kevin Dillard of Huntington; Kerry Dillard and wife, Susan of Huntington; and Julie Scott and husband, Bob of La Grange, KY; grandchildren, Christine (Chad) Lake, Sara Beth (Kirk) Wagner, Allison (J.B.) Lageman, Anna (Caleb) Warnimont, Rachel (Jeff) Kemper, Lauren (Steven) Turner, Max Dillard, Dillard Scott, Hayley (Trey) Williams, Katie (Logan) Wade, Emma Baird, Mary Cherilyn Marin and Mason Holbrook, great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ava Lake, Amelia Lageman, Caroline and Connor Kemper, Grayson and Emory Turner, Julian and Sofia Marin, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special caregiver and friend, Tobyn Wells.
The family will welcome friends beginning at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 7th, in the sanctuary of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. and be officiated by Pastor Davontae Edwards. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Fifth Avenue Baptist Church or Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
