My husband and I knew Bruce and his late wonderful life Ruth Carlson Robertson through First United Methodist church, Hyattsville MD where we were in a couple's Christian book club. Ruth and Bruce's dinner and intellectual game parties were famous even tho' I never learned to really like Cranium. We tried to support him through Ruth's struggle with cancer and then Bruce's packing up their house to move to CA and then SC. We enjoyed Bruce's emails about all his grandchildren and his chemistry teaching activities in South Carolina. We enjoyed a tour of Charleston with him in 2011 and had looked forward to seeing him somewhere in the near future.

This is for Dorothea Faith and Georgia Grace Ruth:
Austin and I met you, Dorothea, at Grandpa Bruce's house in Greenbelt MD when you were tiny. You would not remember, but we do. I am a scientist like your grandpa Bruce and your grandma Ruth and he would e-mail me about your science projects. Please keep up the scientific work. What a good way to honor your wonderful grandpa whom we know you loved a lot!

Bruce was my "Big Brother" at Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Marshall U. Class of 1965 in Huntington, WV. It is a shock to learn that he has passed away. He was a "True Gentleman," a scholar, a great Marine & patriot, and family man. What a wonderful human being. I will certainly miss him for he gave me much inspiration to achieve higher goals in academics and achievement in professional goals. May God Bless his family and all his many friends, Bruce, you will never be forgotten in my prayers!

Bruce and I were classmates and fraternity brothers at Marhall University. We mirrored each other in careers, becoming professors and enjoying many years in research. I have many happy memories of our time at Marshall, double dating, and doing those fun college things. I last saw Bruce at my wedding in Columbus, in 1967, and I am very sad that he is gone.
What I remember most was his sunny disposition, such an enjoyabe person to be around. He was very bright and had high integrity, qualities that most of us only wish we had. So sorry,

The late Fred Lambert, my late husband Karl Langham, and Bruce were friends at HEHS and the three of them enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserve together. I'm very sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Sending my condolences to the entire family for your loss. Sincerely, June Floyd Langham
