Mary Jane Dodrill

Mary Jane Carpenter Dodrill, 93 of Huntington, WV, widow of Attorney and former City Attorney Charles F. Dodrill, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Woodlands Retirement Community. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Alan Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow. She was born August 2, 1925 in Watertown, New York, the daughter of the late Robert F. and Marian Barney Carpenter. Mrs. Dodrill was educated in Watertown schools and graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Charles F. Dodrill on August 30, 1947, and has been a Huntington resident since 1948. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Church and Gold Life member of The Woman’s Club of Huntington.  She is survived by her children, Charles Robert Dodrill and wife, Wendysue of Huntington; Lorinda Jane Dodrill Nease and husband, Richard of Poca, WV; Jeanne Ellen Dodrill Kelly and husband, James of Berryville, VA; James Arthur Dodrill and wife, Terri of Hurricane, WV; grandchildren, Charles Michael Dodrill, Michael A. Martin, Jr., Wesley James Martin, James B. Kelly, Jr., Jennifer Ellen Kelly Powell, Lauren Elyse Dodrill, Cara Marie Dodrill and Kyle Robson, several great grandchildren and several extended Dodrill and Reams relatives in Huntington and Florida. Memorial donations may be made to Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church or Hospice of Huntington.
