Joseph Elmer Rogers, 83, of Huntington, WV passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. He was born October 29, 1936 the son of the late Herbert and Eva Young Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Wetzel and a daughter-in-law, Connie Lynn Rogers. Joe was the founder and owner of Mutual Wholesalers, Inc. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and a 37 year member of the Big Green Club. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Rogers; children, Joseph Len Rogers of Huntington; Todd (Shonda) Rogers of Santa Rosa, FL; Sara Beth (David) Hagley of Newnan, GA and Cynthia Rogers of Huntington; grandchildren, Joseph Rogers, Kristina Peyton, Karly, Tyson and Ian Rogers, Hannah, Sydney and Ray Hagley; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Edward (Diana) Canterbury of Huntington; special friends, Joe and Karen McDonie and Reggie Giles, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and co-workers.
