Esther Frances Talbert Carr, 95, of Huntington, West Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She was born July 1, 1923 in Kermit, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Willis and Daisy Pennington Talbert. She worked as a registered nurse at area hospitals before she married Dr. J. Foster Carr on March 23, 1946. After raising their children, she returned to work managing her husband’s medical office until his retirement in 1978. Frances was an avid reader and gardener. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and a past member of the Medical Auxillary, Guyan Golf and Country Club, the Huntington Woman’s Club, Cotillion, and Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, her husband and sister, Imogene Valleau, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Joel F. (Malinda) Carr; daughter, Dr. Linda G. (Hal McMahon) Carr; grandsons, John Foster and Christopher McMahon, all of Huntington, and three nephews, John, Jim and Adam Valleau. Arrangements have been entrusted to Beard Mortuary, Huntington.
