Clarice Vera Doss

Clarice Vera Doss, 88, of Huntington, passed away on June 26, 2018 at Chateau Grove Senior Living in Barboursville. Born February 18, 1930 in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Lula Legg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junius Doss; daughter, Linda Denney and her siblings, Bernard, Albert, Alfred, Lee, Charles and James Legg, and Hilda White, Maxine Ashe, Minnie Jo Legg and infant Legg. Clarice and Junius owned and operated M&M drive-thru in Guyandotte for many years. An avid collector, Clarice enjoyed “junkin’” at Goodwill with her cousin Dorcus and making flower arrangements. A caregiver at heart, Clarice nursed her parents and each and every one of her local siblings until their passing. Above all, she loved being in her favorite spot, the swing on her front porch and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Jones and Guyneth Dailey; grandchildren, Kelli Oliver, Ginger Denney, Roger Denney, Lindarae Bailey, Chad Dailey and Kara Dailey; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; cousin, Dorcus Craig; special lifelong friends, Yvonne Kincaid, Kathleen Earles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to wish a special thanks to the angels at Hospice of Huntington and Chateau Grove for their compassionate care and kindness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Fred Ramey, officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery in West Pea Ridge, Huntington. The family will welcome friends after 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clarice’s honor to Hospice of Huntington or to the American Cancer Society.
