Charles “Dan” Penvose, 78, of Huntington, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, surrounded by family at the Hospice House of Huntington. Dan honorably served on the Huntington Fire Department for 23 years until he retired on January 2, 1990. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Riviera Country Club. Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. He impacted the life of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Penvose, of Huntington; sister, Eva “Susie” Penvose Rice of Dahlonega, GA; son, Scott Penvose (Terri) of Orlando, FL; daughter, Dani Lynn Penvose Day of Lavalette; five grandchildren, Scott Penvose, Kelly Porter (Joe), Destiny DeLapa (Joe), Cristen Adkins (Dave), and Stacey Day and eight great-grandchildren. At the request of Dan, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Hospice of Huntington. Beard Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
