Linda McClung Carroll
January 19, 1952 ~ October 6, 2023 (age 71) 71 Years Old
LINDA McClung CARROLL, 71, of Old Hickory, TN, passed away on October 6, 2023.
She is the daughter of Willis and Marjorie McClung. She is survived by her husband, Steve, sons Andrew (Nicole), Jonathan (Caitlin) and daughter Elizabeth Phillips (Tony), grandsons Elijah and Jonah, her sister Sally Muth (Tom) and her brother Larry McClung (Linda), sister-in-law Christina Carroll Lindgren and seven nieces and nephews.
Linda was born in Charleston, W.Va. and moved to Huntington at a young age. She graduated from Huntington East High School, attended Marshall University, and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing. After graduation she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she practiced nursing and met her husband, Steve, who is also from Huntington. Linda and Steve moved their family to Mt. Juliet TN in 1985.
Linda was known as a caring, generous, and thoughtful woman who was loved immensely by her family and friends. She was a loving mother who supported her children whole-heartedly by encouraging them, attending all extracurricular activities, and most importantly, setting a great example of how others are to be treated. Known as a surrogate mother to her children’s friends, Linda treated them as her own every time they entered her home. Her fun loving and thoughtful attitude helped her develop lifelong friendships. Among her friends, she was known as loyal, warmhearted, and always ready to share a meal and a martini. Linda loved to travel and some of her best memories were spent with Steve, traveling to Europe, South America, and Asia. When celebrating a birthday or other special occasion, she was known to say, “I just want everyone to be together.” In her final days, Linda’s entire family was together with her, surrounding her with the love she always shared with them. Special occasions were something that Linda held close to her heart. So much so that she took her final breath on October 6th, her 44th wedding anniversary.
