Elbert Wetzel “Tom” Davis, 76 of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Randy See officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born April 27, 1946 at Huntington, WV, a son of the late Wetzel Coleman and Kathleen Cremeans Davis. Tom retired as a Senior Train Master with CSX. He was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Chesapeake and attended Tri-State Bible College. Additionally, Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he worked as a Morse Code Intercept Operator which carried over to his love of being a Ham Radio Operator (WN8K) after his time in the Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Davis and a granddaughter, Aubrey Catherine Ralls. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Marlene Cornell Davis; four daughters, Melissa Darby (Darrel) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Tracy Ralls (Billy) of Louisville, KY, Carissa “Crissy” McDonald (Travis) of Huntington, and Kelly Hurley (Ace) of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Brendan (Dierdre), Campbell, Ian, Madeleine Darby, Coleman (Kazlie) Ralls, Tyler, Emma McDonald and Chloe Hurley; two great-grandchildren, Dakoda “Little Jack” Ralls and Graham Darby; two sisters, Patricia Rowe and Kathy Wolfe (Pat), all of Proctorville, OH; one brother, Mike Davis of Proctorville, OH; brother-in-law, David Cornell (Teresa) of Milton, WV; sister-in-law, Karen Cornell of Milton, WV; and a host of additional family and friends too numerous to mention.
