Douglas Dale Bunn

Douglas Dale Bunn 80 of Ona, W passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis caused from Agent Orange and Burn Pit exposure obtained during service in the Vietnam War. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 1, at 12:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Gavin Napier officiating. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial and Military Honors will be conducted at Donel C. Kinnard Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. Doug was born on December 10, 1943, to the late Cline E. and Winnie Hensley Bunn. He is also preceded by a sister Joy Qualls, a brother, Gary Bunn and a daughter, Brooke Bunn Tweel. He graduated from Barboursville High School in 1961 and later from Salem University. Doug was a proud American serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Combat Squad Leader attached to the 173rd Airborne Brigade with the rank of Sergent. He was a member of VFW Post 1064, American Legion Post 177, Elks Lodge 313, 32° Masonic Lodge member, member of Shriner Clun Beni Kedem Temple. Doug was a Medical Sales Consultant with Johnson and Johnson Corporation and retired from Roche Diagnostics Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Durnell Bunn, daughter, Jessica Bunn, son Jason Bunn, granddaughter Drew Toler Tweel, grandson, Nicholas Tweel, brother and sister-in-law, Harold E. and Lakie Bunn; step-son Robert Summers, step-daughter, Nicole Hoskins, step-grandson Thomas Spangler, step granddaughters, Genevieve Spangler and Sohaila Mueller, nephews, Mark Qualls who was more like a little brother and Vance Bunn, nieces, Susan Subik, Shelly Merriman and Leanne Hewitt; special cousins, Rick Bunn, Jamil Bunn, WVU Football Game Day Cousin, Greg Bunn, Polka dance cousin, Leslie Bunn McKenzie, special singing cousin, Bernetta Bunn Walters, many more cousins, nephews, nieces, best friend/nephew-in-law, John Hewitt (Coach).
