Carolyn Jean (Sayre) Sheils

Carolyn Jean Sheils, 85 of Miami Springs, FL., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Davontae Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. She was born Nov. 14, 1937, daughter of the late Dana and Irene Welch Sayre. She was a 1956 graduate of Huntington High School. Carolyn is a member of Christ Journey Church, Coral Gables, FL and formerly a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving family, her husband, Dr. John Paul Sheils; son and daughter-in-law, John Taylor Sheils and Rose Griswold Sheils of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Julie Sheils Dweck of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Alexis Sheils Collins, Jonathan Dweck, Christopher Dweck, Jacob Dweck and Joseph Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, Katie, Juliana, Emma, Sara, and Lila Collins, Victoria, Eli, Ethan, Aaron, and Sienna Dweck.
