Wilford Earl Poston, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

He was born on November 16, 1938, in Huntington, the son of the late Cecil and Flossie Holley Poston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Norma Jean Poston and Bernadette “Bunny” Poston; a son, Willie Dale “Butch” Poston; and several brothers and sisters.

Wilford was an Army veteran who proudly served during the Vietnam War. He was a former bailiff at the Cabell County Courthouse.

He is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Chuck) Howard of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Sherri Lee Poston of Huntington; two brothers, Kenny and David Poston, both of Huntington; four grandchildren, Rodney Poston, Kirby Poston, Tara McQuaid, and Frankie Poston; nine great-grandchildren, including great-granddaughter Polaris Poston; and several nieces and nephews.

Wilford will be remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be private for the family.
