Wilbur Randale Maynard

WILBUR RANDALE MAYNARD, 73, of South Point, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 am at Beard Mortuary with Rev. C.J. Adkins and Rev. Terry Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV. He was born January 9, 1939, in Wayne, WV, the son of the late Tim and Marjory Taylor Maynard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Emma Thompson Upchurch, brother Daniel Tim Maynard, and nephew Brennan Maynard. Randale was a graduate of Vinson High School and enjoyed traveling the world with his family. He was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church, South Point, OH. He was retired from Ashland Air Products and Chemicals.  He is survived by his wife, Vivian Lester Maynard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon Maynard and Omar Velarde-Wong of Washington, DC, and Cheryl Maynard Webb and Philip Webb of South Point, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vickii Maynard of Richmond, VA; and nine grandchildren: Matilda Velarde Maynard; Taylor, Olivia, Spencer, and Chloe Maynard; and Theron Drayton, Robert Maynard, and Brad and Jacob Webb. He is also survived by three sisters: Opal Blake of South Point; Annie McClure of Jefferson, GA, and Connie Jones and her husband, Ronald of Huntington; a brother, Alvis Maynard and his wife Clydene of Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law Kathleen Maynard of Huntington, and a host of nieces and nephews. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Beard Mortuary.
