Violet Murphy Saxton

VIOLET MURPHY SAXTON, 79, of Huntington, wife of the late Willard Saxton, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on May 29, 1931 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Dock and Molly Cotton Murphy. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sons, Larry, David Michael and Mark Saxton; one grandson, Bryan Scott Anderson; four brothers, James, Emmitt, Joseph and Thomas Murphy; and four sisters, Mary Eplion, Visa Williams, Virginia Aliff and Ruby Pritchard. She is survived by two daughters, Pamala (Sharrell) Anderson of Huntington, WV and Lena (Lester) Napier of Round O, SC; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a special niece, Brenda Tomblin and a host of special friends and church family. The family would like to thank the orthopedic and oncology staffs of St. Mary's Medical Center, Dr. Laurie Harper, Dr. Kerrie Donahue and special nurse, Janet Little. Violet was a member of the Central Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington and loved sewing and quilting. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Central Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Miller, OH. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the church. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family.
