THOMAS DWAYNE GIBSON JR. "Dwayne", 70, of Huntington, husband of Kathryn Darnell Gibson, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born on October 9, 1941 in Huntington, a son of the late Thomas Dwayne Gibson Sr. and Elizabeth Morning Gibson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Gibson; brother, Jeff Gibson; and sister-in-law, Jean Ann Grant. In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Gregory (Janie) Smith of New Iberia, LA; daughters, Wetonia (Mike) Grenther of Newton Grove, NC, Quinn Binion of Newton Grove, NC and Rene (Mike) McCall of Honea Path, SC; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; step son, Rob Howard of Wayne, WV; step daughters, Terri (Danny) Schofield of Cincinnati, OH and Cheryl Jordan of Catlettsburg, KY; sister-in-law, Linda Gibson Clay; brother and sister-in-law, Hallie & Mary Gould; nephew, Brett Gibson; and niece, Angie Smith. Mr. Gibson was a retired Police Captain with the Lake Charles, LA Police Dept. and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Sam Vance officiating.
