Shirley Mae (Toler) Hargis

Shirley Mae (Toler) Hargis, 81 of Huntington, WV, born June 1, 1942, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Dennis Romans officiating. Burial will follow in Plybon Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.

Shirley is survived by 4 daughters: Deborah (Mitchell) Blankenship, Kathy (Philip) Jones, Rhonda (Jamey) Sellards and Carrie (Eugene) Robinson and her bonus son, Malcolm Scott.

Grandma Shirley treasured her 14 grandchildren: Tracie Thocher, Dorothy Sullivan, Cindy McCoy, Jessica Lemon, Kayla Sellards, Andrew Jones, Jamey Sellards Jr., Amber Pockette, Sarah Blackshire, Anna Tomblin, Miranda Hargis, Isaiah Sellards, Malachi Sellards and Emily Sellards. She was loved and adored by 29 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, her dear twin sister, Phyllis Watts and friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Paul E. Hargis; her only son, Paul E. Hargis Jr.; her mother and father, Dixie and Bilton Toler; sister, Kathleen (George) Hallam; and a great grandson, John David.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
