Shirley Jean Clagg Hughes

Shirley Jean Clagg Hughes, 83 of Lesage, WV went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Paramount Senior Living, Ona, WV. She was born February 21, 1935 in Huntington, WV the daughter of the late Frank C. and Goldie Radford Wood. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas Clagg, her second husband, James Hughes, a sister, Helen Neace and two brothers, Owen and Lloyd Wood. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Mike Lyzenga of Milton, WV and Debbie and David Dial of Ona, WV; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Linda Clagg of Barboursville, WV; four grandchildren who lovingly called her "Mum Mum", Dr. Steven Michael (Keshia) Peterson, William Justin Clagg, Bradley Chase Dial and Tyler Andrew (Laura) Dial, six great grandchildren, Aloise Claire Peterson, Silas Brooks Peterson, Sullivan Rhodes Peterson, Charlotte Jaycee Clagg, Mayleigh Reese Dial and Selah Rose Dial and several nieces and nephews. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Huntington. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family.
