Scott K. Osburn

Scott K. Osburn, 92 of Barboursville, WV formerly of Proctorville, OH passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at Wyngate Senior Living. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with nephews, Dale Adkins and Greg Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born August 20, 1919 in Wayne, WV a son of the late Samuel and Verna Berry Osburn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Opal Adkins, Sylvia Booten, Pearl Osburn and Maxine Kuhn and three brothers, Bruce, Irvin and Roscoe Osburn. He was retired from the VA Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Proctorville. He was a World War II Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Adkins Osburn; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Nicki Osburn of Huntington, WV; two grandsons, Jason (Kathy) Osburn of Proctorville and Wes Osburn of Huntington; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Emma Osburn of Lavalette, WV; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Adkins of Piqua, OH and Betty Burks of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Bessie Osburn of Lavavlette; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the Wyngate staff for the wonderful care given to Scott. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Huntington City Mission or Hospice of Huntington.
