Richard Wade Dick, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House.

Richard was born on January 8, 1944, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late David R. and Sally Ferguson Dick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Samuel McKelvey Dick, and his siblings, Ruth, David, Evelyn, and Arden.

Richard was a dedicated employee of CSX Railroad, where he worked for many years before retiring as a maintenance supervisor.

Richard is survived by his loving and caring family, including his devoted wife of 62 years, Linda McKelvey Dick; his daughter, Amy Lynn Barber and her husband, Mike, of Hurricane, WV; and son, Jason W. Dick and his wife, Sarah, of Huntington. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Brett Barber, Abby Farley, Chloe Barber, Audrey Barber, Jeremy McKelvey, Lindsay McKelvey, and Benjamin McKelvey, who carry forward his family legacy. His joy continues through his five great-grandchildren, Graham, Andi, Ruby, June, and Rory. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Beard Mortuary. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
