Richard Lee "Rick" Yates

Richard Lee "Rick" Yates, 61 of Huntington, WV passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Steele United Methodist Church and streamed on Facebook live. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. He was born December 23, 1958 in Huntington, WV the son of Betty Jo Weibel Yates of Huntington and the late Dr. Walter K. Yates. He was a Hairstylist and Color Specialist for forty years. He was a member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church. In 1994 Rick won the 2nd place title in a World Powerlifting Competition. He is survived by his wife Crystal Spurlock Yates; his mother Betty Jo, a brother, Greg Yates of Huntington; two sisters, Jane Ellon (John) Hess of Huntington and Beth Ann (Hayse) Shelton of Elkins, WV and his special fur babies, Rusty and Lewey. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations toward funeral expenses.
