Richard L. Detamore

Richard Lee Detamore, 65, of Huntington, formerly of Nitro, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 at his residence.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, August 20, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima with Father Jim Sobus officiating.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.  He was born May 6, 1942 in South Charleston, WV.  A son of the late Dayton and Katherine Detamore.  Richard was a retired insurance agent with American General after 35 years of service.  He was a Marshall University Alumnus and member of the Big Green Club. He was an avid golfer and bowler.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Detamore; six children, Wendi Detamore, Chris and Stacy Detamore, Terri and Tom Lockard all of Proctorville, OH, Mary Beth Petrie of Columbus, OH, Michael and Priscilla Chittum of Wilmington, NC, and David and Stephanie Chittum of Barboursville; twelve grandchildren whom he loved and cherished; two sisters, Sharon Pauley of Clearwater, FL and Judy Detamore of Nitro, WV.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Beard Mortuary.  The family requests donations be made to Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, St. Mary's Medical Center.
