Ray Hopkins

Ray Hopkins, 86 of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at New Albany Gardens and Care Center, New Albany, OH. He was born November 14, 1930 in Burdine, KY, the son of the late Joe and Minnie Hopkins. He is now reunited with Marie, his loving wife of 58 years. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a retired salesman for the V.F. (Vanity Fair) Corporation.  Ray was an avid golfer and tennis player. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Hopkins of New Albany; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Debbie Hopkins of Lebanon, OH and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday at 10:30 a.m., at Beard Mortuary.  A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. for military and graveside services at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jana Stoner officiating. Burial will follow.  Those who wish may make memorial Contributions to Marshall University Athletics or Hospice of Huntington.
