Raphael Santoris Hansford

Raphael "Ray" Santoris Hansford, 82, of Elkins, WV, husband of Shirley Ann Clark Hansford, joined his family in heaven on January 9th 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  He was born on April 15th 1930 in Elkins, the son of the late Wickham and Minnie Pudder Hansford.  In addition to his wife he is survived by his faithful companion SGT Mojo. He is also survived by his daughters, April Susie and husband James Wegman of Elkins, Mary Ann and husband Robert Haldeman of Chesapeake, OH, and Rachel Lea Hansford of Elkins; grandchildren, Jeremy Pingley, Alexandria and husband Ryan  Clark, Meghan Wegman, Hunter Haldeman, Cecilia Haldeman; great-granddaughter, Addison Clark.  Ray was an avid outdoorsman, Master Baker, and cake decorator. Ray was a member of American Legion Post 0029, Randolph County Senior Center, a Veteran of the United States Army, as well as one of the Chosin Few, survivors of the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. His service to this country resulted in numerous nationally recognized awards.
