Ralph Burks Bunch, Jr., 83 of Huntington, WV, arrived to his heavenly home on June 14, 2026. Born December 7, 1942 to the late Ralph Burks Bunch, Sr., and the late Betty Jane Callahan Bunch. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Denny and Bill; sister-in-law, Susie; great niece, Emily, and nephew, Dustin.

He graduated from Huntington High School. He went on to Marshall and received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Ralph enlisted in the military where he proudly served for 4 ½ years. He went to the police academy where he worked for the Huntington Police Department until retirement. He also worked through the Sheriff’s Department for the Cabell County Courthouse. From there he then hung his uniform, put away his service weapon and finally retired for good in 2026.

He was an active member in several organizations such as the Masons, Elks, VFW, American Legion, Scottish Rites, NRA and the FOP. His hobbies included singing in the choir, shooting guns with his friend Michael, meeting for breakfast on Saturdays with friends, reading, puzzle books and watching his fish.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tammy Bunch. They fell in love the first week they met and lived a love story beyond measure for 33 years. Also, his two special furbabies, Hero and Dooder; sister, Beverly and her son, Breck, and his daughter, Laurn; brother-in-law, Charles Sr. and sons, Adam, his children, Hailey, Gavin and Emily; Charles Jr. (Latasha) and son, Hudson, and Jeremy (Maranda) and son, Grayson; brother-in-law, Dave and his children, Andrea (Lee) and son, Jackson; Peggy (Amber) and son, Wesley, and Anna and her children, Ethan and Bella; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ed) and children, Brian (Crystal) and daughters, Reece and Raegan; Jessica (Derrick) and son, Jack; his late brother-in-law Denny’s children, Natasha (Charlie) and her children, Jacob (Megan), Maia, Issac, Lucas, Paige (Tyler), Kylie, Alayah, Justice, Piper and Charlee.

Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Community of Grace United Methodist Church, 225 28th Street, Huntington, with Visitation beforehand from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Following the services there will be light refreshments. There will be no graveside rites. The family is being served by Beard Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the local animal shelters.
