Priscilla Carol (Smith) Mccaffery

Priscilla Carol McCaffery 84, of Huntington, WV, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Scott Duncan officiating.  Service will be live streamed at www.beardmortuary.com. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4th.  She was born November 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Kenneth H. and Dorothy Shumate Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCaffery and an infant son, Roger. She was a member of River Cities Church where she enjoyed attending several Bible Study Groups. She also enjoyed her meetings with her TOPS Club ladies. Priscilla retired from the Cabell County Board of Education. She is survived by her children, who were the light of her life Jamie Fielden of Spring, TX and Matthew Todd (Kristin) Gebhardt of Parkersburg, WV; her devoted siblings, sister, Doretta Kay (David) McComas of Prichard, WV; brother, Kenny Dale (Carolyn) Smith of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew II, David, Justin, Hannah, Noah and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Jax, Norah, Titus, Declan, James, Hudson and Judah; cousins, Donna L. Hutchison and Antoinette Ramey; a niece and four nephews, and McCaffery family, Sue Bell, Brenda Ball, Steve McCaffery, Norman McCaffery and Amy Meridith. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make memorial contributions to River Cities Community Church or to honor her love of animals, Little Victories Animal Rescue or Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter.
