Phillip David Boyer

P. DAVID BOYER, 73, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on November 26th. He was born May 4, 1938, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Scott and Opal Boyer. He was the second oldest of six siblings. On June 6, 1969 he married Winnie Rose Layne, who survives. He graduated from Marshall University in 1961, where he was also a member of the MU Golf Team. After graduation, he was employed by O.K. Trucking Company until 1990, when he left to work in the field of his passion, at Sugarwood Golf Club. David attended The New Baptist Church. He is survived by his son and daughter- in-law, Paul and Sue Boyer of Leesburg, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Aaron Graham of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Tim Boyer of Leesburg, VA; Elijah and Natalie Graham of Washington, DC; Sisters, Patricia (Gerald) Stilwell of Barboursville, WV; Sandy (Bobby) Peppers of Locust Grove, GA; Sue (Archie) McCoy of Orange Park, FL, and Sheila (Roger) Shannon of Barboursville, WV. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Boyer of Huntington, WV. A viewing will be held at Beard Mortuary on Wednesday, November 30th from 6-8 PM. A service will be held at Beard Mortuary on Thursday, December 1st at 11 AM and will be led by his son-in-law, Rev. Aaron Graham.
