Patricia Ann Basenback

Patricia Ann Basenback, 82, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her residence. Born on June 27, 1935 in Lesage, WV, she was a daughter of the late Russell Wyatt Newman and Gladys Mae Matthews Newman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard O. Basenback; infant son, Gregory Allen, and son-in-law, James S. Spurlock. Pat was a lifetime member of Community Holiness Chapel in Lesage. She retired from HIMG as a transcriptionist after 50+ years of service. Pat's career in transcription began when she proudly won the award for speed typing 99 words a minute when she was just a senior at Barboursville High School.  In her free time she enjoyed playing piano but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Jeff Boster of Huntington and Benita Rae Spurlock of Huntington; sisters, Carolyn (Tom) Parker of Huntington and Donna (Philip) Bowen of Lesage, WV; grandchildren, Chad (Brandi ) Owen of Huntington and Brianna (Clay) Price of Wayne, WV; great-grandchildren, Ali and Brayden Arnold, Brandon James, Rae-Anne, Kaylee and Kyler Spurlock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Hewlett Trogan, officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville.
