OVETA LEE MCMILLIAN - July 22, 1942 - October 25, 2011.  Went to be with the Lord at Cabell Huntington Hospital after her fight with leukaemia.   She was the daughter of Willard and Esta Florence Davis.  She was a graduate of Milton High School and later Cabell County Vocational were she obtained her LPN Certificate, Marshall University School of Nursing obtaining her RN BSN degree, and Bellermine College were she obtained her MSN degree.  She was retired from Cabell Huntington Hospital after 27 years of service as a Nurse Manager R.N. BSN where she was responsible for starting the Transitional Care Unit, and Rapid Admissions Unit.  She had also been the Nurse Manager of  2 North, 3 North, and the Registration Department.  She had also worked at the VA Medical Center as an RN and had worked for Doctor Jose I. Ricard. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Oveta leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law Michael Cass and Heather McMillian of Salt Rock, WV,  two grandsons Michael Cass McMillian II and Joshua McMillian of Salt Rock, WV, two brothers Steve Davis of Salt Rock, WV and Roger Joe Davis of South Gate, MI, and a sister and brother-in-law Penny and Kenny Blankenship of South Point, OH, and very special nephew Adam Davis of Huntington, WV and two nieces Mandy and Meghan Hackney of Huntington, WV.  Along with Jay, Chase and Tyler Bockway, Nicole Workman, Shellie Edmonds, Tara and Drake Vaughn, Jeremy and Stephanie Davis. Oveta was preceded in death by her brother Robert "Bob" Davis, and two sisters Elneta Jane Davis, and  Kitty Davis Hackney.  Oveta leaves behind some very special friends, Lynn Jarrell, Sophie Smith, Gloria Peirce, Bonnie Draper, Jack Vital, Dan and Paulette Goheen, along with her fellow co-workers, sorority sisters, and a host of others. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officiating. Burial will follow at Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. Beta Sigma Phi will conduct a ceremony at 8:00 p.m. during visitation. Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.beardmortuary.com
