Norma June Dale

Norma June Dale, beloved sister and aunt, passed away at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, MD on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 after a brief illness.  She was 82 years of age and had lived in Huntington, WV for most of her life.  Ms. Dale was born in Seco, KY on January 25, 1929, to Frank and Viola Phillips Dale.  She was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School and attended Marshall University.  She enjoyed working with the children in the nursery at Highlawn Baptist Church, where she was a member for 47 years.  Survivors include her sister, Frankye Dale Curtis of Manchester, MD; nieces Sharon Curtis Steele (Bill) of Jacksonville, FL and Catherine Curtis Laib (Nevin) of Finksburg, MD; great nieces and nephews, Howard Curtis, III, Carrie Curtis, Scott Steele, Elissa Laib, and Eric Laib; and four great-great nieces and nephews, Tyler Curtis, Michael Curtis, Alexandria Steele, and Elissa Steele.  Ms. Dale was predeceased by many years by her parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. A nephew, Howard Curtis, Jr., passed away in 2008.   Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.  Friends may call at the mortuary from 12:00 to 2:00.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.beardmortuary.com
