Nathaniel Wilson Harbour

Nathaniel Wilson "Bud" Harbour died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at St. Mary's hospital after a brief illness. He was born on July 25, 1929 in Culloden, WV, a son of the late Minor and Mary Etta Harbour. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Edgar and Larry Harbour; and three sisters, Virginia Barker, Audrey Morgan, and Ruth Bunch. Mr. Harbour was well known in Huntington for his love and talent of golfing and participated in many tournaments throughout the state. Bud had the experience of pitching against Cuba in the Amateur World Series of Baseball in 1956 at Battle Creek, MI after the Huntington All Star Team won the WV State Championship.  In the 1991 Sr. Olympics he won the Bronze Medal in golf and 3 on 3 Basketball.  Bud was an avid fan of all Marshall sports. He was a member and deacon at Highlawn Presbyterian Church. He was retired from International Nickel, now Special Metals. Bud is survived by his wife Janet and three children: Casey W. Harbour of Ashton, WV; Bruce A. Harbour and wife Pam of Lavalette, WV; and daughter Suzanne Wilson and husband Rick of Piedmont, SC.  Grandchildren: Gwen Harbour; Nathan Curry; Taylor and Jason Wilson. Great Grand Children: Tyler and Nathan Curry and Ashlyn Wilson. One brother Lon Harbour and wife Jeannene of, Atlanta, GA; three sisters Edna Barker of FL, Thelma Warren and husband Robert of Ashland, KY, and Maggie McCarty of FL. Brother and sister in law; Al and Cindy Davidson of St. Albans, WV; and Libby and Eugene Lyon of San Antonio, TX.  Funeral services will be held at Beard Mortuary, on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2 P.M. with Rev. R. Jackson Haga officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 9th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
