Naomi Hughes

Naomi Hughes, 72, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in St. Mary's Medical Center.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Cledith Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.  She was born July 10, 1936 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Bernie and Erschel Ross.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Hughes.  Naomi was a retired counselor for Weight Watchers and attended Altizer Baptist Church.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir, reading, bowling and loved her dog, Benji.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey D. and Diana Hughes of Lavalette; two brothers, Danny Ross of Huntington and James Ross of Georgia.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the mortuary.
