Murle Jeanette Shepard

MURLE SHEPARD, 85, of Huntington passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014. She was born on April 18, 1929 in Hurricane, WV, a daughter of the late Frank Smith and Margaret (Harbour) Morris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Shepard. Murle is survived by her sons, Dr. David L. Bell and his wife Ruth of Hurricane and Steven M. Bell of Barboursville; a sister, Joan Goodall of Huntington; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Murle lived the majority of her adult life in Huntington. She was a graduate of Huntington High School and a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Dr. Allen Reasons officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society in Murle's honor.
