Mildred Katherine Dean

Mildred Katherine Dean, 97 of North Mankato, MN formerly of Huntington, WV passed away on Monday April 21, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Mankato, MN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Bill Haynes officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born January 12, 1917 in Matewan, WV the daughter of the late Young and Sally Mitchell Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. Dean, a son Robert Dean, sisters, Mary Lucille Blankenship, Chloe Blankenship, Nancy Blevins and Martha Pierce and brothers, Robert, Billy and Young Kennedy, Jr. She was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a member of United Methodist Women. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Mullins of North Mankato, MN and Karen Wilson of Newark, DE; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene C. Dean and Betty of Cyclone, WV; Daughter-in-law Eyvonne Dean of Charleston, WV, a sister, Dixie Irvin of Huntington; brother, Ray Kennedy of Meador, WV, six grandchildren, Andrea, Keefe, and Brian Dean, Erin Wilson, Doug Mullins, and Tracy Licht; two great grandchildren, Jake and Mason Licht; and several nieces and nephews.
