Michele Leota Flesher

Michele Leota Flesher, 64, of Proctorville, OH, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

She was born November 21, 1960, in Canton, OH. Michele was a 1979 graduate of East Canton High School. She received her Certified Paraprofessional Educator certification in 2024 and spent nearly 20 years as a beloved Kindergarten Teacher's Aide at St. Joseph Catholic School. She also worked with the Fairland School System from 2001–2007 and previously at East Canton Elementary. Michele was a dedicated teacher's aide who found great joy in helping children learn and thrive. Her compassion, patience, and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn Joan Douglas and her husband, Granville Septimus "Tim" Flesher III, in 2020.

She is survived by her son, Evan Christopher Flesher of Ohio; her sister, Mary (Greg) Wells of Ashland, KY; and her dear friends Sue and Tom Moyer, Connie Johnson, Wes Givens, and the staff and students at St. Joseph Catholic School, who were like family to her and whom she cherished deeply.

Michele's legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to education will live on through the Michele Flesher Scholarship Foundation, established in her honor. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 1326 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701 (memo: Michele Flesher).

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Louisville, OH.

The family of friends who loved Michele would like to thank the staff of Heritage Center for the excellent care, compassion, and kindness they showed her. Your dedication brought her comfort and will always be remembered with gratitude.

Michele will be remembered always for her giving heart, her unwavering dedication to children, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
