Melissa Cogan (Reynolds) Budd

Melissa Cogan (Reynolds) Budd, 58 of Huntington, WV passed away February 17, 2017 at Cabell Health Care Center after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease.  She was born September 15, 1958 the daughter of the late Donald C. and Donna Jean Reynolds of Ashland, Ky. Melissa is survived by her husband of 18 years, Hulse, daughters Leslie Cogan-Roberts (Henry), and Stephanie Cogan; four wonderful grandchildren, Rusty, Cierra, Chance and Alex; her first husband Steve Cogan; one sister, Cathy Martin (Valerie) of Lexington Ky; two nieces, Stacey and Brittany Bayes (Ashley); one great niece, Gabby, and one great nephew Camden all of Lexington Ky.  Through her battle with Alzheimer's she was also surrounded by family members Chyrl Budd, Mark and Amy Conner, David, Kirsten, Austin and Ericka Budd as well as special friends Tonya and Kevin Simmons, and Kimberly and David Mallory. Melissa was an extremely kind and caring person.  A 1995 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing, she began her career caring for patients and their families on the cardiac telemetry and oncology units at St. Mary's Medical Center.  Melissa had a kind heart and a caring attitude toward all of her patients. Her warm smile and laugh would brighten the day of staff and patients alike. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, Huntington, with Rev. Terry Deane and Rev. Mark Conner officiating.  Entombment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.  Beard Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Melissa.
