Mary Emily (Drown) Lafon

Mary Emily Lafon, 76 of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at her home. She was born March 10, 1948 in Huntington to the late Kent and Emily Drown (Keyser). Mary graduated from Huntington East High School in 1966  and went on to get her Master's Degree from Marshall University. She taught for many years at Salt Rock, Ona and Milton Middle Schools. She was a member of First Guyandotte Baptist Church and was a huge fan of the Thundering Herd.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lafon and brothers, David Drown, Bill Drown and Terry Drown. She is survived by her children, Brian McComas and Natalie McComas, both of Huntington; grandchildren, Maxwell McComas, Henry McComas and Aaden Dillon, step-children, Aimee Mood of Michigan, Christa Blair of North Carolina and Larry J. (Lisa) Lafon II of Ohio; brother Allen (Gwynn) Drown, sister-in-laws, Dawn Drown and Charlene Drown; as well as step-grandchildren, step-great grandson, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM, both at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park. Please leave an online condolence for the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
