Marilyn Whitling

MARILYN WHITLING, 81 of Huntington, widow of Charles D. Whitling, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on January 24, 1930 in Huntington, a daughter of the late William H. II and Kathleen Koontz Sayre. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty June Elliott and Sue Rettig. She is survived by daughters, Christi (David) Dennison of Louisville, KY and Jamie Whitling of Greenville, SC; son Matt Whitling of Portland, ME; brother William "Bill" (Babs) Sayre III of Altadena, CA; grandchildren, Niki (Brandon) Whiting, Erin (Chris) McConnell, Bret (Amy) Hendley, Corinne (Spencer) Walker, Scott (Jennifer) Whitling and Sarah Whitling; great-grandchild, Aiden McConnell; special nieces, Sharon Klingner and Suzie Champitto; and best friend, Sandra Stepp. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington with Pastor Steve Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington in Mrs. Whitling's honor.
