Margaret Joan Varney

MARGARET JOAN VARNEY, 87, of Huntington, passed away at her residence on Sunday, August 8, 2010. She was born on June 16, 1921 in Crooksville, OH, a daughter of the late Joseph and Leona Fair Mooney. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Cecil P. Varney. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (James) Rorrer of Richmond, VA and Connie Johnson and her companion Bunyan Morris of Statesboro, GA; two sisters, Mary E. "Bette" Ball of Sterling, VA and Patricia Hooper of Huntington; six grandchildren, Rory (Renee) Perry, Laura Beth Perry, Lesley Perry, Drew (Jennifer) Stinnett, John Paul (Sarah) Montgomery and Connie (Greg) French; and six great-grandchildren, Zane Margoci-Perry, Paul James Montgomery, Ella Kay Montgomery, Abigail Leigh French, Alex French, and Anna French. The family would like to thank the staff of The Woodlands and Hospice of Huntington for their loving kindness and assistance. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington with Father Jim Sobus officiating.  There will be no public visitation. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Varney's honor to Hospice of Huntington.
