Margaret A. (Armbrister) Worsham

Margaret Armbrister Worsham, age 101, left this life and entered the eternal presence of God's radiance on February 4, 2025. She was born in Max Meadows, VA on January 4, 1924, a daughter of the late George Lee and Sarah Armbrister.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Harris (Oran) Marietta, GA and Margot Martin; grandchildren, Aimee White (Bobby), Mandy Lucas (John), Megan Worsham, Missy Bryant (Mike), Tiffany Foster (Michael), Heather Thompson (Bruce) and T.J. Martin (Kristen) and great grandchildren, Lake and Liliana Townsend and Emilynn Foster, Addyson and Asher Martin, Jackson and Colin Thompson, Austin Lucas,  Hadley and Harper Lucas, and Henry Tice. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Vaughan of Aiken, SC; brother, Herbert Armbrister of Max Meadows, VA and sisters-in-law Della Armbrister of Wytheville, VA, and Patricia Worsham of St. Augustine, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Nelson Worsham; son, William (Bill) Worsham; her parents and siblings:  Roberta Armbrister, G. W. Armbrister, Virginia Gubser, Reva Lee, Elliott Armbrister, Edwin Armbrister; brother-in-law, Clark Worsham, and sister-in-law, Dot Wilkins.

Margaret earned a B.S. degree in Home Economics from Berea College and a M.S. degree from Marshall University. She taught school for 20 years in Powhatan, Virginia and Cabell County WV. Her family, church and friends were the top priorities in her life. Since 1952 Margaret has been a devout member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Fifth Avenue by Dr. Jana Stoner at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, with visitation in the sanctuary at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Memorial Park with her husband and son. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for their beautiful care.
