Mae Evelyn Jordan

MAE EVELYN HEIN JORDAN, 91, entered eternal rest on October 22, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born January 23, 1920, at Ward, Kanawha County, a daughter of the late Fred Herman and Belva Marvella Persinger Hein. She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Irma Irene, brother Chester, sister Norma and brother Charles and the love of her life, husband Paul Elijah Jordan. Mae was employed many years at Thornburgh's 29th Street Food Market and previously had worked at Sylvania. She always had a ready smile and a twinkle in her eye. Love of animals was a large part of her life and she and her husband raised pugs and rescued strays their whole lives. This love for animals was passed on to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Paul Ellsworth Jordan (Louisa) of Ona, daughter Jo Ann Jordan of Huntington and two grandchildren, Joseph Patrick Jordan and Emily Nicole Jordan. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the caring people at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice of Huntington for taking such good care of our love one. Visitation will be from 6-8 Tuesday and funeral will be 1:00 on Wednesday at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. Rev. Thomas Hastie will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Milton Cemetery, Milton WV.
