Lucy Belle Starks

LUCY BELLE STARKS, 89, widow of Norman Starks, of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospital. She was born on July 24, 1921 in Lesage, a daughter of the late William and Missouri Dennison Short. She is survived by two sons, James (Brenda) Short and Olin Starks, all of Huntington; two daughters, Betty Carter and Sally (John) McCloud all of Huntington; three brothers, Clyde (Fannie) Blake of Columbus, OH, Alva (Ruth) Blake of Huntington, and Garland Blake of Lesage; one sister, Mae Hesson of Hurricane; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Freedom House of Prayer, 216 10th St., Altizer, with Pastor Dennis Romans officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. throughout the evening at the church. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family.
