Lorine B. Levine

Lorine Levine, 81, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Dr. Ricky Ray officiating.  Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.  She was born July 22, 1926 in Kingston, WV, a daughter of the late Josie and Harvey Benton Powers.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Powers and her daughter, Linda Nutter.  Lorine was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church.  She was also a lifelong Democrat and committee woman for 12 years.  She was named Cabell County Outstanding Democrat of the year 1997.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Sheldon "Moe" Levine; a son, Larry Effingham; a stepdaughter, Regina Levine; granddaughters, Debbie Jarrell and husband, Carter, Sara Seltzer and husband, Aaron, Rachel Von Hendricks and husband, Eric; grandsons, Damon Effingham and James Whitsitt; a sister, Mabel Klein; brother, Harvey Powers and wife, Ruth; 4 great grandchildren and various nieces and nephews, and special family friend, Neil Dial.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Beard Mortuary.  Memorial donations may be made to the charity or church of one's choice.
