Lester Murphy

LESTER M. MURPHY, 64, of Huntington, husband of Rebecca Hunter Murphy, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on August 30, 1948 in Gilbert, WV, a son of the late Monroe Murphy and Nellie "Dimples" Boyer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, PFC Herbert Murphy. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Tamra (James) Christian, Barbara (Nathan) Dempsey, and Lester "Herb" Murphy, all of Huntington; six grandchildren, Breanna and James Christian, Allison and A.J. Dempsey, and Patrick and Megan Murphy; one great-grandchild, Trinity Christian; two brothers, Ronald and Michael Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Mike Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville. Friends may call two hours before the service at the mortuary.
