Lester Raymond Davis

Lester Raymond Davis, 93 of Huntington, WV passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Greg Page officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after noon. He was born December 30, 1921 in Huntington, WV the son of the late Waldo Clifton "W. C." and Mary Alice Kitchen Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Macel Agnes Davis and siblings, Eugene Clifton Davis, Hubert Davis, Betty Miller and Jenny Thesler. He was a Navy Veteran and fought in some of the fiercest battles in the South Pacific during World War II. Lester owned and operated Davis Grocery for more than 48 years. He is a member of Staunton Street Apostolic Church and VFW post 9738, whose members will conduct Military Graveside Rites.  He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roger Workman of Huntington; two grandsons, James William Berry of Barboursville, WV and Christopher Don (Stacey) Berry of Mt. Pleasant, NC; two great grandsons, J.D. Berry and C.J. Berry and a host of nieces and nephews.
