Leila Mitchell Myers

Leila Mitchell Myers, 99 of Huntington, WV, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Heritage Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Bill DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m.   She was born January 3, 1919 in Huntington the daughter of the late Frank and Effie Adkins Mitchell. Leila was a graduate of Huntington High School. She retired from Cabell Huntington Health Department and was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, David Michael and Diane Myers, two sisters, Faye Hicks and husband, James  and Erma Black and husband, Lloyd and three brothers, Arthur Mitchell, Hobert Mitchell and wife, Minnie, and Earsley Mitchell and wife, Naomi. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Karen Myers of Newtown, PA; a sister, Alfreda Mitchell of Huntington; grandchildren, Jon and Mary Ann Myers of Doylestown, PA; David and Teresa Myers of Hurricane, WV; Marilyn and Mark Prince of Scott Depot, WV; Tina and Christopher Singleton of Scott Depot, WV; Toni Smith and Christopher Colegrove of Milton, WV; Joe and Michelle Myers of Norwalk, OH; a special friend, Phyllis Salyers and several nieces and nephews.
