Kester Wayne Elder

Kester Wayne Elder, 81 of Huntington, WV, died Sunday May 25, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Jarrold Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Harrisville, WV. at 2:30 PM. He was born March 1, 1927 in Pennsboro, WV a son of the late Richard W. and Jessie Jones Elder. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Fowler Elder and a son David W. Elder. He was retired from the West Virginia Water and Waste Co.  He was a veteran of the Navy having served during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 177. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol S. and Ronnie Robinson of Milton, WV; Pam A. and Mike Donohoe of Ocala, FL and Debbie K. and Lou Lesh of Middleburg, FL; a son, Rick H. Elder of Harrisville, WV; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ernestine and Robert Snodgrass of Harrisville, WV and Joan and Harold Moore of Parkersburg, WV; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and his special dog "Sam". The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 PM at Beard Mortuary.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Huntington.
