Kathryn Louise Gorrell

KATHRYN LOUISE GORRELL, 86, of Huntington, widow of Larry L. Gorrell, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born on June 29, 1928 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Clemency I. (Thorton) Arbaugh. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by the father of her children and first husband, Charles L. Yates. She is survived by sons, George Frederick Yates of Chesapeake, OH and Charles Robert Yates of South Point, OH; a daughter, Cynthia J. Yates of Huntington; grandchildren, Kathy Davis, Bobbi Jean Yates, Jeremy Yates and Nicholas Blaylock; and great-grandchildren, Briana Davis, Courtney Yates, Cody Yates, Christina Blaylock, Katelynn Blaylock and Brian Blaylock. Mrs. Gorrell was a member of First Guyandotte Baptist Church and a retired cashier from Value City and Heck's department stores. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Pauline Yates for her care and assistance. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Ron Burnsworth officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the mortuary.
