Katherine Doggett

Katherine Doggett, 93, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Woodlands Retirement Community.  Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2007 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with the Rev. Paul Russell officiating.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  She was born July 24, 1914 in Ronceverte, WV, a daughter of the late Porter and Ella Morgan.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Doggett; four sisters, Rena Boone, Lavetta Neville, Beaula Figgett and Mildred Blunt; and two brothers, Clayton Morgan and William Morgan.  Mrs. Doggett was a member of First United Methodist Church, Huntington.  She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Sturgeon and her husband, George of Huntington; one son, R. Landon Doggett, Jr. and his wife, Lois of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Scott Sturgeon and his wife, Kathy of Barboursville and Betsy Filchak and her husband, Drew of Versailles, KY; four great grandchildren, Lauren and Jennifer Sturgeon and Ryan and Katherine Filchak.  Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.  Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – 6931 Arlington Rd.; Bethesda, MD  20814.
