Katherine C. (Crnkovich) Caldwell

Katherine "Katie" C. Caldwell, 92 of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Wyngate at RiversEdge, Proctorville, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor Dean G. Borgmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary. She was born July 28, 1932, in Filbert, WV to the late George and Antonija (Visick) Crnkovich. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick "Pat" Caldwell; sisters, Sister M. Monica Crnkovich, Sister M. Marguerite Crnkovich, Sister M. Annette Crnkovich and brothers, Nick (Marge) Crnkovich and Thomas "Tommy" Crnkovich, her special brother that she attended to his care for many years.  She was a 1950 graduate of Gary High School, Gary, WV and was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing class of 1962. She worked several years at St. Mary's Hospital before retiring with over 30 years as a Registered Nurse for the former INCO Alloys. Katie would be described by her family as being a loving, caring, selfless, faith filled and devoted Catholic.  Her joy was her family and getting to cook for family and friends.  She is survived by a sister, Antoinette "Toni" Paas of Huntington, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Dick and Carol Simmons.  In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Pallottine Missionary Sisters of Huntington, 2810 N.
