Katherine Thompson Berry

December 24, 1921 — January 13, 2011

KATHERINE THOMPSON BERRY, 89, formerly of Fort Gay, WV, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on January 13, 2011 at her residence.  Born December 24, 1921 in Logan, she was the daughter of the late William and Mina Thompson of Monaville.  She was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Billy Thompson and four sisters, Ruth Lawson, Helen Smith, Vivian Bentley and Mary Ferrell; two sons-in-law, Shelton Meade and Jerry Thompson and grandson, Tony Meade.  She is survived by son, G.B. (Carolyn) Berry of Huntington; daughters, Brenda Meade of Prichard and Sharon Thompson of Kenova; two sisters, Mabel Kelley of Chapmanville and Francis (Wayne) Major of Proctorville; grandchildren, Michelle (Dave) Pinkerton of Huntington, Shelton Meade (Tracy Bledsoe) of Prichard, George Berry of Brooklyn, NY, Mark (Lara) Berry of Charleston and David (Tammy) Barnett of Fort Gay; great grandchildren, Corie and Tony Meade, Logan and Brenda Barnett and Ava Katherine Berry; special kids, Nikki, Ronnie and Tristin and several nieces and nephews.  Katherine gave her heart to the Lord at age 12 and served him her whole life.  She will be remembered for all the love and kindness she showed to everyone she came in contact with and for the testimony she left.  She was a charter member of Central Freewill Baptist Church.  Favorite Verse:
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

We wish to thank our pastor, Steve Williams and his wife, Jill, her church family, neighbors and the caregivers at Hospice.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Central Freewill Baptist Church, 5th St. and 6th Ave., Huntington with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.  For those who wish, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Huntington.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.beardmortuary.com
